Live Coverage
The team I led defined a live storytelling framework built around easily consumed tiles. The system focuses on moments when the Journal has something distinct to add: live analysis, expert context, and clear editorial framing during important events. Across live coverage, live activities, and real-time storytelling components that surface anywhere in our ecosystem, the work established a scalable approach to live coverage that supports newsroom workflows while reinforcing the Journal’s authority.

Live, Not Noise
STRATEGY
What Does It All Mean?
WSJ live coverage was defined to help readers understand what is happening and more importantly what it means. That keeps the experience aligned with the Journal’s strengths in analysis, business relevance, and editorial clarity.

Live Activities
Live Activities bring major events to the lock screen and Dynamic Island, allowing readers to follow updates without reopening the app. This makes live coverage more ambient and better matched to real-world behavior.
